What is Project LTSC Professional 2024?
Project LTSC 2024 is the Long-Term Servicing Channel edition of Microsoft Project. It installs and runs entirely on your own PC as a fixed release, so the scheduling engine and interface stay exactly as delivered rather than shifting with monthly cloud updates.
For project scheduling that consistency carries real weight. A plan baselined in 2026 needs to calculate the same way when you report variance against it in 2028, and mid-cycle changes to how the tool handles calendars or levelling are precisely what you don't want touching a live schedule.
The honest limitation: there is no cloud portfolio layer, no browser access, and no Project for the web integration. Those belong to the subscription plans. If your organisation needs a shared portfolio view across many project managers, a perpetual desktop licence is the wrong tool.

How to download, install and activate Project 2024 Professional
- Open your delivery email. The product key and official download link arrive at your checkout address, usually within minutes of payment clearing.
- Uninstall any earlier Project version first. An older Project left in place is a more frequent cause of activation failure than a bad key.
- Match the bit version to your Office install. If you already run 64-bit Office, install 64-bit Project — mixing 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft applications on one machine will block the installer.

Is Project 2024 Professional a subscription?
No. This is a perpetual licence bought once, with no recurring charge — unlike Project Plan 1, 3, and 5, which bill monthly or annually per user. It covers this release of Project Professional on a single PC.
Do I need Microsoft Office installed to use Project?
No. Project is a standalone application and runs without Office. Office does help in practice, since exporting reports and task data to Excel is a routine part of stakeholder reporting, but it is not a requirement.
Can Project 2024 open files from Project 2016, 2019 or 2021?
Yes. Project 2024 opens .mpp files created in earlier versions. Going the other way is the constraint — a colleague on an older version may not open a file saved in the 2024 format, so agree a shared format before circulating plans.
Does Project 2024 run on Mac?
No. Microsoft Project is Windows-only and there is no native Mac release. Mac users typically run it through a Windows virtual machine or use the browser-based Project for the web, which requires a subscription.
Can I move this licence to a different PC later?
Transfer rights depend on the licence type and Microsoft's terms, which vary by region and agreement. Retail licences are generally transferable once removed from the original machine; OEM-style licences generally are not. Send us your order number and we'll confirm what applies to your key.
